Keeping your account secure

Updated 25 October 2026
  • Use your own login. Never share a username; add each person as a user so the Activity log shows who did what.
  • Passwords are at least 10 characters, stored hashed. Five wrong attempts lock a username for 15 minutes.
  • Sessions end after 12 hours without use (7 days at most). Press Sign out at the bottom of the navigation on a shared computer.
  • Staff vs owner: give staff the staff role; only owners change settings, connections, lines, countries, updates and users.
  • Disable, don’t share. When someone leaves, disable or delete them under Settings > System > Users; they are signed out immediately.
  • The access key (a long secret in the server’s configuration) is for machines such as scripts, not for people signing in. Treat it like a master password, never paste it into chat or email, and ask your Marvo contact to replace it if it may have been seen.
  • Check the Activity log (Settings > System) for anything you do not recognise: it shows the person’s name, or a key fingerprint for machines.
