The front desk: answering your phone line

Updated 25 October 2026

AI setup > Front desk is for inbound calls. It is separate from campaigns and is off until you publish it.

Set it up

  1. Business: your business name, what you do (one or two sentences), an optional greeting, and any extra instructions (languages, what never to discuss, how to handle complaints).
  2. Phone line: callers who ring this line reach the AI.
  3. Departments: where the AI may transfer a caller. For each: a name, the number to transfer to (international format), when to send callers there and opening hours. With no departments, the AI takes a message instead.
  4. How the front desk behaves: one rule per line. Blank uses the default; it is yours to change.
  5. Check What the AI is told (press Show) to read exactly what it will work from, then press Publish to phone line.

Going live

Publishing makes the AI answer every call to that line, from anyone. Marvo asks you to confirm. You can Take offline at any time. If you change something after publishing, the page says so: press Publish changes to update the live version.

What you see afterwards

Inbound calls appear under Calls with the outcome (for example enquiry, routed, support), and any contact details the caller gave. Leads who are interested appear under Hot leads.

Knowledge is shared with the front desk and is capped in length, because every word is read on every turn.
