How the AI talks to people

Updated 25 October 2026

Its name

The AI has a first name, which you set under Settings > System > Appearance > Agent name. It introduces itself by that name and your company name.

It never pretends to be human

It does not claim to be a person. If someone asks whether they are talking to an AI, it says so honestly, then offers a person or carries on. Whether you must also say it is an AI at the very start of a call depends on the country you call; ask a qualified adviser, and tell your Marvo contact if you want the opening changed.

How names are said

Voices sometimes mangle names. Settings > System > Appearance > How names are said lets you write written = spoken, one per line (for example Ubong = Oo-bong). Only what the AI speaks changes; the dashboard and emails keep the real spelling.

Opt-outs and voicemail

  • If a person says to stop calling, Marvo adds their number to the do-not-call list automatically (in test mode it only flags the call, so your own phone is never locked out).
  • On a voicemail the AI hangs up unless the call type has a voicemail message.

Ending a call

The AI wraps up politely in two turns, asks if there is anything else, then ends the call. If the line is bad, it says so and repeats only the last sentence.

Prices and promises

The AI states a price only if you wrote one in Knowledge. Otherwise it says your team will cover it. It never promises a day or time; your team confirms.
